Congratulations to all of the 2026 grads! After four long years of hard work, piles of homework, and hours and hours of studying each day, you are at the finish line! Sometimes I feel like the teachers just give you homework just because they can, haha! I mean, honestly, how many times have you studied and done your assignments in preparation for a test only for the questions to be completely different?
At least you don’t have to deal with that anymore, right? Well, at least until you head off to college, lol! Graduating from high school is a huge accomplishment, and what better way to celebrate than throwing a fun grad party with your friends? Party planning can be incredibly stressful, which is why I like to get a head start on things and plan things in advance.
I suggest sending out your invites at least a few months early, just so people have the time to clear their schedules. With all the things you’re stressing about, food shouldn’t be one of them. It is a must-have for every party, and sometimes I only go for the snacks, haha! But, seriously, if you are having trouble coming up with food ideas for your grad party, you have come to the right place!
I have gathered 40 insanely good and cheap graduation party food ideas your guests will obsess over. From Chick-fil-A meals to veggie cups and delicious walking tacos, there is something in here for everyone!
GRADUATION PARTY FOOD IDEAS
1. CHICK-FIL-A MEALS

Who doesn’t love Chick-fil-A? If you are planning on ordering food instead of cooking or preparing it yourself, I suggest going with Chick-fil-A.
Just make sure to get everyone’s order, and if you have any vegetarian guests, take that into account.
2. LEMONADE BAR

There is nothing better than sippin’ on some ice-cold lemonade during the summer. Since most grad parties are held in May or June, the weather is much warmer.
So create a little lemonade station for your guests so they don’t end up dying of thirst, lol!
3. CANDY BUFFET

I think all grad parties should have a candy buffet. I mean, who doesn’t love sweets? Grab a few mini buckets and place the different types of candies in them.
Write clever words or phrases to along with the candies. For example, for Swedish fish, you can write “o-fish-ally graduating” and so on.
4. CHIP CHIP HOORAY

Set up a chip stand for guests to munch on throughout the party. Make sure to include lots of different kinds to cater to everyone.
I suggest buying a couple of boxes of the variety pack since those are much cheaper and come in mini sizes.
You can hang them up on a wooden palette with clothespins and string so it’s easier for guests to just grab and go.
5. PIZZA

As an avid pizza lover, I cannot think of a better food to serve at your party. They are filling, delicious, and you can add whatever toppings you want.
You can make them yourself at home with your friends. You can host a sleepover and just spend the time chatting with your girlfriends and making pizzas.
Or, you can just order from a restaurant. Either way, make sure to have a variety of pizzas with different toppings and a few that only have cheese.
Some don’t like any toppings, or they have different preferences, and some don’t eat meat. I suggest giving your guests a list of options beforehand and seeing what they choose.
That way, you won’t be ordering any pizzas that’ll go to waste.
6. CROISSANT SANWICHES

If you’ve never tried croissant sandwiches, what are you doing? They are literally so good and one of my favorites. The buttery, flaky croissant combined with the veggies and meat is just top-notch.
You can buy the croissants from your local grocery store, or you can make them if you’re feeling up to it. Just slice them in half, and add lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, onions, and other toppings.
Add a toothpick in the middle of the sandwich once you’re done, so the toppings don’t spill out and stay in one place.
7. SALAD CUPS

I know salads aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you and your friends like them, then make sure to recreate this food idea for your grad party. Grab disposable cups and add your salad to them.
For the salad, you’ll need lettuce (obviously), tomatoes, onions, croutons, chicken, and cheese. Transfer some salad dressing and ranch to mini bottles and place them on top of the salad cups.
Make sure to put out forks as well, alongside napkins.
8. VEGGIE CUPS

I know what you’re thinking. “Veggie cups, at a party?” Well yes! Veggie cups are seriously so good, and that’s coming from someone who never used to eat vegetables.
I mainly like them because of the ranch, haha! Anything tastes good when you douse it in ranch, right? For the veggie cups, you can include celery, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots.
9. CHICKEN AND WAFFLES

Is there a better food combo than chicken and waffles? I think not! The sweetness of the waffles and the savory chicken just go along so nicely.
They taste incredible, especially if you add a little maple syrup on top. Place the waffles and chicken on top of each other, and put them in individual cups or a tray.
If you’re using a tray, I suggest placing a fork or a wooden skewer on top to secure the waffles and chicken together.
Pour maple syrup into small dipping cups and place some tongs on the tray so it’s easier to grab.
10. WATERMELON SLICES

If you tell me you don’t like watermelon, I simply cannot trust you, haha! But seriously, it is my absolute favorite fruit. It is made up of 90% water, so it is great for hydration.
Especially when it is insanely hot outside. Cut them into triangle slices and put them on popsicle sticks.
Make sure to really wash your cutting board and knife because nobody wants a gross onion taste on their delicious watermelon.
11. FRENCH FRIES SHOOTERS

French fries are an amazing appetizer, and literally everyone loves them. I suggest buying a few packs of frozen fries from the grocery store and preapring it yourself.
Place them in tiny shot glasses. I suggest putting the ketchup in disposable dipping cups for the guests to grab because not everyone likes it.
12. COOKIES AND MILK

You can’t have a grad party without cookies and milk. It is a classic combo and is a great way to wind down after a long night of partying.
The cool milk is great for hot summer days, and the cookie is the perfect treat to go alongside it.
13. SLIDERS

Sliders are one of the most popular food choices to serve at a party. They are present at almost every party/gathering I’ve been to, and for good reason.
They are cheap, easy to make, and insanely delicious. You’ll need veggies, meat, and slider buns to make this. I suggest using two different kinds of meat, so your guests have options to choose from.
14. CHICKEN WINGS

Most people love chicken, so you obviously need to include them on your grad party food menu.
I suggest ordering from a restaurant because it’s gonna take a long time to make the amount of chicken you need for all of your guests.
You can order some with sauces and also some without any sauce, just because some people don’t like it.
You can also place ranch in disposable cups for the guests and put out hot sauce if they want to add some to their wings as well.
Make sure you have lots of napkins on hand cause it’s about to get messy, haha!
15. SHRIMP CEVICHE

I have personally never tried this, but how good does it look? At first, I thought it was just guac and chips, but no, it’s shrimp ceviche.
I suggest making a little bit a few days before the party just to see if you like it. If you do try it, let me know how it is because the picture is making me want to eat it right now, haha!
16. PANCAKES

Mini pancakes are going to be a huge hit at your party. You can buy premade pancakes from your grocery store and preheat them before the guests arrive.
Put out different toppings like blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries for the toppings. Don’t forget the forks and maple syrup.

Calling all seafood lovers, you are going to obsess over these shrimp cocktail cups. They are easy to make and so good.
You’ll want to first make a delicious shrimp cocktail sauce and add a couple of shrimps and a lemon to the cups as well. You can take a look at the recipe here.
19. SOFT SHELL TACOS

Tacos are a must for me! I am someone who goes to Taco Bell regularly, and if you are too, then you have to serve this at your grad party.
You are going to need tortillas, ground beef, chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and salsa, along with any other filling you want to add.
You can transfer some sour cream to disposable cups for your guests and use clothespins to keep the tacos together and to stop the filling from falling out.
20. PASTA SALAD

Pasta salads are for summer. They are literally so popular all year round, but they just hit different in the hot weather. If you’ve never tried it before, you seriously need to.
I have an entire post for pasta salads if you want to check it out for some recipes. You can serve it hot or cold, but I think it tastes way better cold.
You can use any type of pasta you want and add some veggies like bell peppers, carrots, onions, and tomatoes to make it even more flavorful.
21. CAPRESE SKEWERS

Caprese skewers are the perfect appetizer to start your party. They are light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious.

22. SWEETS CHARCUTERIE BOATS

If I could go back and host my grad party again, I would definitely include these sweet charcuterie boats. You can buy the paper boats from Amazon for super cheap.

They will absolutely love this!
23. MINI WAFFLES

This is a great addition to your grad party food menu. Everyone loves waffles, so why not include them?
Buy the mini waffles from the grocery store, or if you want, you can make them fresh at home. Pour some syrup into small disposable cups and place the waffles on the side.
Guests can just grab a cup, dip their waffles into the syrup, and enjoy the party.
24. WALKING TACOS

Tacos can get a bit messy if you’re not careful. Nobody wants to sit down for like 10 minutes to eat their tacos, while you could be up and about enjoying the party.
So, create a little walking taco station for your guests. They can grab a bag of chips, add the meats, the toppings, and the sauce, and mix it all up.
They can dance while eating, talk to friends, or just walk around. This is especially great because there will be a lot less cleaning up to do afterwards.
25. HOT DOG STATION

Hot dogs are another popular food choice when it comes to parties. They are easy to make, taste amazing, and most of all, the guests can make one themselves with whatever toppings they desire.
Create a station with the hot fogs, the hot dog buns, and all of the toppings. I suggest including the basics like cheese, mustard, and ketchup, along with other toppings like Cheetos, feta, guac, and salsa.
26. CHARCUTERIE CUPS

When hosting a grad party, I think you should definitely have charcuterie cups. Not only are they delicious, but they are also super easy to make.

28. DONUTS

Here is another sweet way to end a party. Who doesn’t love donuts? Honestly, I haven’t met a single person who doesn’t like them. And what is there not to like anyway?

Include the classic glazed, chocolate, chocolate frosted, some with sprinkles, and you can also include a few new flavors to the mix as well.
29. PRETZELS

I don’t know about you, but I love me a good pretzel. It is a great snack, and you can buy it in so many different flavors.

For the sauces, I suggest going with classic marinara and cheese.
30. S’MORES BAR

Towards the end of the party, you and your friends can all gather around a fire pit and make s’mores. I mean, can you think of a better way to end the night?
You can all sit around the fire and chat about any and everyhting while roasting your marshmallows. Careful not to burn them though, haha!
31. POPCORN BAR

We obviously cannot forget about everyone’s favorite snack! Create a little popcorn station with different flavors of popcorn for the guests to choose from.

Umm, if you guys have never tried fruits with Tajin, you are seriously missing out. It is like the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick of spice.

Your guests will definitely be coming back for seconds.
34. DRINK STATION

Every party needs a drink station. After dancing around and partying all night, you are bound to be sweating and getting thirsty.
Quench your thirst by drinking an ice-cold cup of soda. For the drink station, I suggest including a variety of different beverages.

38. FRUIT KABOBS

These rainbow fruit kabobs are not only aesthetically pleasing, but they are also super tasty. All you need are fruits of your choosing and a wooden skewer.
Alternate between the fruits, and I suggest going down from the lightest to the darkest-colored fruit to make it look like a pretty rainbow.

You don’t want your guests to get tired before the party even starts, do you? Create a little coffee station with iced coffee, creamer, and syrups so they can stay energized and get their party on!
40. SMALL SANDWICHES

Sandwiches are a classic party food that everyone loves. So prepare some in advance for your guests.
I suggest making them with different toppings/fillings so the guests can choose which one they like best.
Or you can also just create a make-your-own-sandwich station with the toppings and bread for the guests to make themselves.
