BABY SHOWER GAMES
1. MY WATER BROKE
Freeze small plastic babies in ice trays and place them in a bowl by your entrance.
Have guests take one each and shout “My water broke” when their ice cube melts. Whosever melts first wins a prize.
2. LATE NIGHT DIAPERS
Set up a table with a basket of diapers and lots of colorful markers. Make sure the markers don’t bleed otherwise, they will stain clothes.
Ask guests to write something funny or encouraging on the diapers to give the parents a little pick-me-up while they are up in the middle of the night and the baby won’t stop crying, haha.
3. BABY BIB DECORATING
This is another super fun idea! Create a little station and have plain baby bibs and markers set up. Have the guests and the parents themselves, decorate the bibs.
4. DIAPER PONG
This is a fun twist on the classic ping pong. Set up a cardboard with diapers attached to it like above. The guests will throw ping pong balls into the diapers and try to earn the most points.
You can divide them into two teams or let everyone take turns. The person/team who accumulates the most amount of points wins!
5. BABY JEOPARDY
Make a baby jeopardy board and write down baby-related questions for different categories. This could be baby books, nursery rhymes, movies, or anything else that is baby-related.
Divide the players into two teams. Everyone will try to answer the questions and the team who answers the most correctly, wins.
6. DON’T SAY BABY
Get a basket and fill it with clothespins. Have guests take one and attach it to their clothes. If they hear someone say the word “baby”, they’ll have to take their clothespins.
Whoever has collected the most by the end, wins! I’ve gotta say, this is quite the challenge, at least for me. How do you go to a baby shower and not say the word baby, haha!
7. GUESS HOW MANY KISSES
Grab a baby bottle and fill it with Hershey’s kisses. Have guests guess how many are in there and the person who is closest to the actual number, wins!
You can also do this with M&M’s or any other item you want.
8. BLINDFOLDED BABY CHANGING
This is one of my favorite baby shower games and it’s also great for co-ed. Have guests blindfolded and see who can change the baby’s diaper the fastest.
My aunt actually did this at her baby shower and it was hilarious. The men especially had absolutely no idea what they were doing.
My stomach was hurting so bad because I could not stop laughing, lol!
9. POP THE BELLY
If you want to do a gender reveal at the same time as your baby shower, this is a great way to do it. You can have everyone participate or just the mom and dad.
They’ll have to pop the “belly” (balloon) until blue or pink confetti comes out. This is honestly such a clever way to do your gender reveal because it’s insanely cheap and lots of fun.
10. WHO’S WATCHING THE BABY
Place a bunch of small plastic babies in a bowl and have guests each take one. They have to hold onto the baby for the entirety of the shower and not put it down or let it fall.
Otherwise, someone can snatch it. Whoever has the most babies collected wins the game. You may be thinking that they can just place this inside their pockets so it won’t be fun.
Which is why I recommend having a dress code. Maybe tell them to just wear dresses or pants and shirts with pockets.
11. DIAPER RAFFLE
The most popular baby shower item people bring is diapers. You’ll probably have at least 10 packs of them by the end, LOL!
Create a little station where guests can write down their names for a prize if they brought diapers.
12. THE PRICE IS RIGHT
If you don’t really like baby shower games, you are definitely going to like this one. We all know and love “The price is right” right?
Put a fun little twist and have guests guess the price of the baby items. Whoever gets the most right, wins a prize.
13. HOW BIG IS MAMA’S BELLY
Here is another super fun baby shower game. Have the guests cut a string that’ll fit perfectly around the soon-to-be mother’s belly and see who comes closest.
Some love this and some don’t so definitely make sure the expectant is ok with it.
14. WORDS OF ADVICE
Grab some construction paper and cut them into the shape of a baby onesie. Tell guests to write down advice or words of encouragement for the parents.
These will come in handy when they are exhausted and need a little motivation to keep pushing through.
15. DON’T CROSS YOUR LEGS
Give guests a clothespin and have them attach it to the hem of their clothes. When someone crosses their legs, another guest can snatch the pin from them.
Whoever has the most by the end, wins! I cannot get comfortable without crossing my legs so this would definitely be a challenge for me.
16. BOTTLE CHUG
This is a great way to start the party! Fill a baby bottle with beer or any other beverage you want. Have the guests line up and take turns chugging the bottle.
This will definitely be insanely funny to watch. Whoever finishes first, wins a prize.
17. HOW MANY SAFETY PINS
This is just like the How Many Kisses game above but with safety pins instead of Hershey’s Kisses. Fill a jar or bottle with safety pins (make sure to count as you go).
Have guests guess how many are in the jar and see who guesses the closest number.
18. GUESS THE BABY FOOD
Set up a table with a few jars of baby food and plastic spoons. The guests will try to guess the names of the baby food by tasting, smelling, and seeing it.
Whoever gets the most right, wins the challenge. I am not so brave to be eating baby food. I once tasted some when I was babysitting and it was awful. I nearly threw up.
19. DECORATE A BLOCK
If you are looking for super fun and entertaining baby shower games, then you need to give this a try. Set up a block decorating station where guests can decorate the blocks as they’d like.
The twist is, that they have to draw/decorate the block that corresponds to the letter on the block. It’s a lot harder than it sounds.
20. GUESS WHAT CHOCOLATE BAR
Place chocolate bars on the diapers and have guests guess what chocolate bar it is. They’ll have to use their sight and smell for this game but no tasting is allowed.
Because let’s face it, most of them would guess right on the first try. And, where in the fun in that?
21. BABY FACE GAME
Print out pictures of the soon-to-be mother and father.
Cut the pictures into strips and have guests try to see what the baby will look like once born by combining different pictures together.
You’ll definitely have a good laugh seeing all of the different combinations.
22. SIGN THE ONESIE
This one is not so much a game but it is still fun. Have your guests sign the onesie and keep it as a memory. You can have it framed or even let the baby wear it.
Just be careful though, if you want to wash it, the ink will probably be gone. This can serve as a great guest book too.
23. PLACE YOUR BETS
For this game, guests can place bets for when they think the baby’s due date is. They can place $1, $5, or however much they want. The closest person wins.
You can split the pot 50/50 with the winner and the expectant or give it all to the winner.
24. FIND THE BABY GAME
This is kind of like a little scavenger hunt but for babies. Before the guests arrive, hide small plastic babies throughout the space where the baby shower is being held.
Guests will search for them throughout the shower and the person who’s accumulated the most wins!
25. HEADBAND DECORATING STATION
If you already know the gender of your baby and if it’s a girl, you need to recreate this idea. Every girl needs at least a few pretty headbands am I right?
So create a little station where guests can decorate headbands for the baby. Include charms and flowers, and of course plain headbands.
26. MAKE YOUR OWN PACIFIER CLIP
This is another super fun idea the guests will love. Create a pacifier clip decorating station where guests can decorate them however they want.
Be sure to set up the strings and the charms as well.
27. DIAPER TOSS
Tossing diapers in the trash is a serious skill all parents need to learn, LOL! Because who has the time to get up 10 times a day to throw out a diaper?
Pour a little bit of water on the diapers and wrap them up. Have the guests line up and toss the diapers in the trash. Whoever gets the most in, wins!
28. LET’S MAKE A BABY
Last but not least, we’ve got this amazing play dough baby-making station. Have guests make a baby using only one can of play dough.
After everyone’s done, let the soon-to-be mother pick out her favorites. You can also give prizes to the winners to spice things up a bit and get them competitive.
