Black History Month is only a couple of months away, which means it’s time to start brainstorming ideas on how to celebrate and show some love to the notable figures who have had an important role in making the nation what it is now. If you have a bulletin board in your classroom, decorate it and make it a black history month theme.

Have your students pick out their favorite African American figure and write a powerful word describing them. For example, dream like Martin, learn like Ruby, etc.
